Why Poor Children Are Fat
I was watching one of the popular charity based shows on our local television (not ASSTRO, those assholes copied from TV3 instead and came out with their own) with my dumb friend when she asked me a stupid but interesting question, “Why are those kids so fat? They’re like poor right? I thought that kind of people are skinny because they couldn’t afford food and all…”
To make things simple with her, I just gave a fake laugh and rolled my eyes in super max power mode. I honestly like these type of program because at least they did something right with the idiot box rather than raking greedy money with stupid reality shows we love to hate.
Did you know why some of those underprivileged children are heavy and not exactly skinny from not eating like we imagined they would be? Come to think of it, this question is indeed mind boggling at first. Here is my rather brilliant theory.
Of course their family is poor but they still managed to feed their children to keep them, you know, alive and stuff. Since our main Asian staple food is rice, their parents could only afford to have the essentials and skimped on other diet. Besides, rice is fairly cheap considering the amount and price ratio, not to mention easily accessible. Rice, as we know equals carbohydrate. These kids did not eat a balance meal, so to get full they ate a lot of rice. And that’s why they got so fat.
Am I a genius or what?
p/s: To all of you celebrating Christmas today, happy holidays and have a fabulous new year. Don’t forget to think of those poor children while you’re stuffing yourself to oblivion!

…eerrrr not quite! Nice try though
Have you considered that some of them are genetically born with weight issues? I am happy if our orphans are well-fed in Malaysia. At least we know that they are not deprived in that regard…It is tough to lose parents or one parent at that age. The same consideration goes with other underprivileged children…if life is tough for us who are struggling to pay bills and other debts, one can just imagine how hard their life is each day. Life is truly crappy for these people.
Anyway, Craplicious…I consider this posting as a much improved topic than Mark would win 1 in a million show…
@wah wah Yeah… Thanks for your not-dumb comment (I get a lot of the opposite lately LOL). I’d still post a thing or two about crappy Malaysian television every now and then because they are so friggin’ laughable!
Your welcome..
I guess a worthy topic instead would be “Why Malaysian tv producers /stations are not able to come up with original tv reality shows?” …:P I know people have lots of ideas but why those big guns on tv ain’t buying them?
Happy New Year to ya and everyone else.
