Victoria’s Secret Cabaret 2007

I love watching Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows, which held annually. They are like a runway show on steroids. Everything is extravagant, elaborate and the models are beautiful (okay, some of them are not so but who’s complaining, it was supposed to be the most beautiful ladies on earth). Last year was the best ever since they’ve decided to spend millions on the event a number of years back. With each coming year becomes a challenge for new themes, props, music, artists and models (the actual lingerie play very little part in the show really), it takes a seriously creative team to came up with innovative ideas for the next event.

They had fun and amazing themes like Scottish Highlands and Victoria’s Secret Airlines last year, with accompanying music remixed to match the show worthy of a few listen in my iPod like The Killers’ When You Were Young and David Guetta’s Just A Little More Love. That soundtrack was out of this world!

So, I had high hopes for this year. Like real high, almost to the point of anticipation. But when they aired it on CBS a couple of days ago, I was disappointed. The music’s kinda bad (almost no remixes), the themes selection is kinda wacky and there’s no Gisele, who is the only one person who actually walked like a model. This year, it seems like every girl tried too hard to be as playful, as sexy and as slutty as possible.

What’s with Adriana Lima’s running and Angela Lindvall’s wandering hands? Does every girl NEED to wink at the end of the runway? Is Seal going to be a regular since Heidi is the centerpiece now? It’s turning more and more into a cabaret performance than a glorified runway show, really. They even edited out the Spice Girl’s second performance, not that it was good but at least something else. I’m so not amused at all.

Next time perhaps they should asked the models to line dance or something since they ran out if ideas for coming shows.
